Each country has its own laws and regulations corresponding to import and export of goods and which custom authority strictly enforces. The import or export of some goods may be restricted or forbidden. Special import permits for restricted items needs to be processed with different agencies as indicated below :

INCO Terms

1-EXW (Ex-Work)
The seller makes the goods available to be collected at their premises and the buyer is responsible for all other risk, transportation costs, duty & Tax from that points onward.

This term is commonly used when quoting a price.

2-FCA (Free Carrier)
The Seller gives the goods, cleared for export, to the buyer’s carrier at a specified place. The buyer is then responsible for getting transported to the specified place of final delivery.

This term is commonly used for containers traveling by more than one mode of transport.

3-CPT (Carriage Paid To)
The seller pays to transport the goods to the specified destination. Responsibility for the goods transfers to the buyer when the seller passes them to the first carrier.

4-CIP ( Carriage& Insurance Paid)
The seller pays for insurance as well as transport to the specified destination. Responsibility for the goods transfers to the buyer when the seller passes to the first carries.

5-DAT (Delivered at Terminal)
The seller pays for transport to a specified terminal at the agrees destination. The buyer is responsible for the cost of importing the goods. The buyer takes responsibility once the goods are unloading at the terminal.

6-DAP (Delivered at Place)
The seller pays for transport to the specified destination, but the buyer pays the cost of importing the goods. The seller takes responsibility for the goods unite they’re ready to be unloaded by the buyer.
7-DDP/DTP (Delivered Duty Paid)
The seller is responsible for delivering the goods to the named destination in the buyer’s country including all costs involved.

8-FAS (Free Alongside Ship)
The seller puts the goods alongside the ship at the specified port they’re going to be shipper from. The seller must get the goods ready for port, but the buyer us responsibility for the cost and risk involved in loading them.

9-FOB (Free on Board)
The seller must get the goods ready for export & load them onto the specified ship. The buyer seller shares the costs & rick when the goods are on board.

10-CFR (Cost & Freight)
The seller must pay the costs of bring the goods to the specified port. The buyer is responsible for risks when the goods are loaded onto the ship.

11-CIF (Cost, Insurance & Freight)
The seller must pay the costs of bringing the goods to the specified port. They also pay for insurance. The buyer is responsible for risks when the goods are loaded onto the ship.

Palletization / Fumigation

Palletizing is regarded to be a sure-safe way of dispatching marine cargo consignments, just as palletized cargo ships are held in high regard in the shipping sector across the world. The process helps in easy handling and storage of goods on ships.The cargo placed on pallet is secured with straps and wraps in order to stabilize and prevent any unwanted movement.

Transporting goods in ships and aircrafts between countries using containers is an economic and well established practice. Fumigation becomes necessary in order to keep away exotic pests and diseases entering into the country while permitting reasonably rapid clearance of containers. Timber insects pose a significant Quarantine risk in all countries and accordingly all wooden packing material used in the export packing should be fumigated.
